ISLAMABAD: A Saudi group on Friday expressed interest to upgrade country’s power sector, and proposed that the existing gas turbines be augmented up to 20-25 per cent as a short-term solution to power crisis.
A proposal was forwarded to Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervez Ashraf by a delegation of Powerlines Communications Co Limited of Saudi Arabia. The group, headed by its chairman Ahmed Ali Hazza Alghamdi, expressed interest to upgrade the efficiency of Guddu Thermal Power Station, and Shahdara and Kotri thermal power projects.
Talking to the delegation, the minister said that the Saudi investment in power sector would be welcomed, and assured them of his full support. Full Story Link
